LOOK, LIFE and TIME….

LOOK, LIFE and TIME….

LOOK  LIFE  TIME Many of you might not remember these three words but over thirty years ago they represented the titles of popular magazines when I was growing up. There was something very intriguing about the pictures and the articles they would write about.  I was able to envision what it was like to see behind the scenes and discover what other people were like, it felt as if I was experiencing life and seeing the world through their eyes. I would eagerly wait with anticipation by our mailbox to discover what was happening with people and places I could only dream about which was certainly not occurring in my backyard! The idea of so many possibilities and reading about different cultures and ideals was so captivating to me. Looking back, I believe life was much simpler back then; we had to wait

Trying to understand this about ourselves is confusing! When we begin to pay attention to these triggers by shifting our perspective and reframing our life experiences it provides us with an opportunity to become more aware and in tune with ourselves allowing more positive triggers to occur. How do we know what they are? I like to begin by noticing how I am feeling, we have to remember as human beings we are feeling people that think, not the other way around!  Getting in touch will all five of your senses is a great way to start, especially by being in nature. Contemplate the 7 stumbling blocks below by reflecting back on a time these have happened to you and what you would do differently right now! Fear:  We are scared of being hurt, ridiculed and not accepted, so we conform and smother our true self. It is easier to be what people WANT us to be. Doubt: When dreaming about success in one form or another you talk yourself out of it, you don’t attempt to make it a reality. You doubt your ability to succeed. Conformity Is Easier: It is hard to be different and stick out in a crowd because of the judgment and rejection of others. We want

Tips for Empty Nesters

Tips for Empty Nesters

1. Change is Inevitable. Attitude is Everything! One thing we all know for sure is everything is constantly changing and being uncertain about the future may stir up feelings of anxiety. As our children leave the nest it is our responsibility to learn to access our natural generative energy. Stagnation, despair, boredom, loneliness or indifference leave us feeling lifeless. On the other hand; trying something new, being open and flexible, becoming involved in the life of community allows us to cultivate a more positive attitude as we grow older. Later in life the ego can no longer drive our experience. In his book Shadow Dance, David Richo creates an acronym for the ego’s FACE: F- fear; A-attachment; C- control; E- entitlement.  True wisdom comes when we shift our allegiances from fear to curiosity, from attachment to letting go, from control to trust, and

When we are able to see the dark and the light side of our personalities it allows us to become less defensive and it

Time Is a True Gift From the Heart!

Time Is a True Gift From the Heart!

If you told me five years ago I would be in Long Beach, California running a half marathon with my son while he ran the full 26 miles, I would have thought you created something out of a lifetime movie because it was not my reality at the time, that is for sure. But it DID JUST HAPPEN! A few months ago, my son; Paolo said he wanted to do something special with me around his 26th birthday in December. He mentioned running together, just us, alone, somewhere warm and to have a unique one on one experience together. To be honest, this last few months I have had more than a few sleepless nights wondering what a 58 year old woman like me, running in Long Beach going to look like? How was I NOT going to embarrass my son? And more

The Joy of Giving

The Joy of Giving

What would you do if you knew it would make someone’s day? We all get caught up thinking what we do has to be perfect or if we just had a little more time we would get around to allowing ourselves to be creative and actually do something that inspires us and possibly others too!  There never seems to be enough TIME to do the things we want to do. I read a quote the other day that said, “Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life.” WOW!! I think everyone should have this taped to their bathroom mirror; we NEED to create time to be creative!! If we keep our eyes and our hearts open, inspiration shows up in many unlikely places! Many of my clients, friends and family know I LOVE to collect heart rocks that I
